A spiced-filled Dune sandworm bread? “Now, you too can make a proud, impressive, spice-scented Great Maker of Arrakis!”
Frank Herbert’s Dune is one of literature’s greats in the sci/fi genre. In 1975, avant garde director Alejandro Jodorowsky began work on a project to bring the classic book to the silver screen. He and his creative team got as far as storyboarding, but never got financial backing for the movie. The project did deeply influence subsequent films like Star Wars and Alien.
At the link is an interview with David Lynch, who did make a film of Dune in 1985, and some of the fantastic art produced by Jodorowsky’s project.
